For
nearly a half century, I have fished both fresh and salt water.
From the Atlantic to the Pacific, throughout Central America and North
America, I have pursued my passion with undaunted vigor. I have caught
or assisted in the capture of some of the most spectacular catches ever
made. One hundred twelve IGFA world records, including a 103 3/4# amberjack
on 15# Fly Tippet, an 83 1/4# cobia on 15#fly tippet, a 105 1/4# Atlantic
sailfish on 8#line, a 147 3/8# tarpon on 8#line, a 75# King Mackeral on
12#line, and many more. The largest fish ever landed on "standup"
tackle is a bluefin tuna that I captured off of Cape Cod in 1993 that
weighed 1154#. Two years earlier I landed the first "grander"
and since that time have taken others that have exceeded 900#.
In
over 35 years of tournament fishing, I have won or guided the winners
of hundreds of trophies, titles and championships. These include offshore
tournaments, billfish tournaments, backcountry tournaments, tarpon fly
tournaments, money tournaments, as well as some of the most prestigious
fun tournaments in the world. Many of these anglers, under my tutorial
system, rose from amateur to professional status. Coaching them in their
casting techniques, presentations, and fish fighting procedures has produced
numerous fishing champions over the years.

Though
I have made numerous films and videos, and have appeared on television
many times, few things can compare with the satisfaction that comes from
that pressure at the end of the line. The feeling that you get from a
good presentation, or just going wherever you want to go on any given
day. Guiding and teaching others in the field of fishing has resulted
in a fulfilling life. Fishing is my forte.
Understanding
each species of fish that we fish for and the maximum envelope of the
rod, reel and line, as well as the terminal rig that is being used, are
the keys to the success that I have enjoyed over the years. Though I can
not teach a person to love the sport, I can teach a person who loves the
sport to be far more proficient and excel at the sport they love. Through
a technical program with slides and first hand demonstrations you may
learn casting techniques, knots, proper pressure, terminal rigs, choosing
rods, reels and much more that 50 years of experience can bring to you.
Though
fishing is my first love, after my family, sharing what I have learned
with others is a close second. Over the years, I have given seminars
and provided programs for fishing clubs, boat shows and sport shows, as
well as large corporations. I believe this would be an informative and
entertaining evening for you and your fishing club or organization.
